TIGERS FACE REDCAR TEST

Thursday May 17, 2007
SHEFFIELD Tigers aim to hit back from last night's defeat at Birmingham when they host another one of speedway's newest clubs Redcar at Owlerton tonight (7.45pm).

Thankfully all seven riders came away from Perry Barr unscathed in the wet and will take their place in an unchanged Sheffield side.

Redcar include Wolverhampton's Elite League star Magnus Karlsson as a guest replacement for the injured Gary Havelock.

It's the first of two meetings in as many nights between the teams with the return at the South Tees Motorsport Park tomorrow.

Tigers manager Reg Wilson said: "We could have won at Birmingham but for a couple of very bad decisions by the referee and we were all angered by that.

"Hopefully we can get it right tonight and get a big enough win to give us the confidence to go to their place tomorrow and get the aggregate bonus point at least."

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, James Birkinshaw, Andre Compton, Ben Wilson, Joel Parsons, Paul Cooper, James Cockle.
