MILTON KEYNES 25 TIGER CUBS 9

Monday August 25, 2014
A very depleted Tiger Cubs team were comprehensively beaten by the Milton Keynes Knights at Mildenhall yesterday.

With three of our regulars unable to race for various reasons and two other MDL matches taking place the same day, a shortage of available riders meant the Cubs went into the match using R/R to cover the fourth position. They were soon weakened further as guest Liam Sanderson was ruled out of any further involvement when his second fall in as many rides left him battered and his bike bent. It was left to our own Alex Wilson (pictured) to take the fight to the Knights almost single-handedly, scoring three second places and a third in his four rides. He was snapping at the heels of the leaders in each of his heats making them earn every point, and he was unlucky not to manage at least one win.

The Knights were solid from top to bottom and could have recorded a greater margin of victory had Martin Pearce not been ruled out of his last two rides with machine problems. On this form it’s not difficult to see why the Knights are one of the contenders for the MDL title.
