TIGERS HIT THE ROAD

Thursday June 20, 2019
SHEFFIELD co-boss Damien Bates is looking forward to a busy weekend for his side.

Tigers head to rivals Scunthorpe on Friday (7.30) before competing in the Championship Fours at Peterborough on Sunday (2.30).
And Bates has high hopes for the Owlerton outfit in both meetings.
“After a bit of a break, to have two meetings like these is just what we need,” he said.
“We’ve got a good rivalry with Scunthorpe and as I’ve said before, their promoter Rob Godfrey always seems to get his riders fired up even more when we come to town.
“But our aims don’t change; we’re going there for the win and if for some reason we can’t get that then hopefully we leave with at least one league point.
“Hopefully the Sheffield riders can build some confidence in that one as well to take us into the Fours where we should have a good chance if everyone rides how they can on the day.”
Tigers are at full strength for their trip to the Eddie Wright Raceway while the hosts bring in in-form Leicester man Ryan Douglas and Finnish international Tero Aarnio for injured duo Jake Allen and Jason Garrity.
A reminder that Sheffield’s next home fixture is against Somerset on Sunday, June 30 (5.30).
SCUNTHORPE: Josh Auty, Danny Ayres, Tero Aarnio, Stefan Nielsen, Ryan Douglas, Alfie Bowtell, Ryan Kinsley.
SHEFFIELD: Danny King, Drew Kemp, Ty Proctor, Broc Nicol, Kyle Howarth, Zaine Kennedy, Josh MacDonald.
