TUESDAY PREVIEW

Monday August 12, 2019
SHEFFIELD head to Redcar on Tuesday in a huge Championship clash as the play-off race well and truly hots up (7.30).

Tigers sit just three points behind the Teessiders in the current standings and a first away win of the season would dramatically boost hopes of a top four finish.

“Every single fixture now in our run-in is going to be massive and really, really important,” Tigers boss Simon Stead said.

“Of course there’s a bit more emphasis placed on meetings where you’re riding against another team directly in the mix with you but at the end of the day we need to aim to take maximum points out of everyone we come up against.

“We’ve got a good group of lads now who are really up for it; Redcar don’t hold any fears for us, we’ve got guys who go well there and if we apply ourselves in a similar fashion to how we did at home on Sunday when we beat Edinburgh then we’ve got a chance of getting a result there.”

Sheffield are at full strength for the fixture as they welcome British teenager Drew Kemp back into their line-up who enjoyed a positive performance, finishing fifth in Sunday’s European Under-19 Final in Slovakia.

REDCAR: Erik Riss, Kasper Andersen, Michael Palm Toft, Jordan Stewart, Charles Wright, Tom Woolley, Nathan Greaves.
SHEFFIELD: Danny King, Drew Kemp, Justin Sedgmen, Todd Kurtz, Kyle Howarth, Zaine Kennedy, Josh MacDonald.
