NICOL BACK FOR TIGERS

Tuesday August 27, 2019
SHEFFIELD have brought Broc Nicol back into the side ahead of their Wednesday night home clash with Newcastle at Owlerton (7.30).

The American international has recovered from the broken collarbone sustained at Leicester two months ago and is flying back into the UK today from his California home.

Sadly, the club have made the tough decision to release Drew Kemp from the team – a tough call.

Boss Simon Stead said: “This has been done with our remaining meetings in mind.

“We have to go to Eastbourne and Broc scored 15 down there when he was guesting for Scunthorpe and when this opportunity arose we decided to take it.

“It’s still mathematically possible to make the play-offs and with tough meetings to come, starting at home to Newcastle on Wednesday, we have to be at our strongest.”

The club would like to wish Drew well for the future. We have enjoyed having Drew in the team and we will be watching his development with great interest.

It was an agonising decision for us to make and we hope Drew has benefitted from the experience of riding with Sheffield.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Owlerton on Wednesday night.
