JACK’S THE LAD FOR TIGERS

Tuesday November 26, 2019
SHEFFIELD have added more international class to their newly promoted side with the signing of Australian international Jack Holder.

Holder joins from Poole and has experience of Owlerton when visiting with Peterborough and Plymouth in the Championship.

Club bosses were keen to snap him up when he became available and, like fellow new signing Josh Grajczonek, he made the play-offs with Poole last season.

He comes from a Speedway family with brother Chris the 2012 World Champion and was a team-mate of Nicki Pedersen, who joined the club last week, in the Swedish League last season.

Club co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We are delighted to welcome Jack.

“He’s the perfect addition to the lads we already have in the side and he knows them all pretty well.

“I’m very excited by the way the team building is developing and we will have more news on that score later this week.”

Holder is delighted to have Owlerton as his new home track in the UK – even though he revealed he was worried when he first visited the city circuit.

“My first time there at Sheffield I was a bit worried about the big dirt line it had,” he said. “But I’m used to it now and I go good round there so it will be a good home track to have.

“I know the other guys and I think it was awesome they managed to get Nicki Pedersen to the club. I’m really looking forward to it.”
