ASH RARING TO GO

Monday December 16, 2019
BRITISH racer Ashley Morris can’t wait to be an Owlerton regular in 2020 after joining Sheffield for their exciting Premiership push.

The 25-year-old will fill one of the reserve positions as the Tru Plant Tigers return to topflight racing.

And Morris is relishing a new type of challenge at the South Yorkshire venue.

“Obviously with Wolves and Cradley I’ve done a lot of laps at Monmore which is tight and technical.

“I’ve also ridden for Ipswich and Plymouth and even going to Birmingham this year, that’s not the biggest of tracks either.

“But Sheffield is a new type of challenge for me; I’ve only ever been there as an away rider and it’s probably one of the hardest tracks to go to as an away rider.

“The home side ride there week in week out and they get really dialled in there.

“So that’s what I need to do now and I’m looking forward to it.

“I know it won’t be easy because the Premiership is always a tough league to be in but there’s a lot of experience in this Sheffield team and I think that will help me a lot.

“Things didn’t go to plan with Wolves for one reason or another this year; it just didn’t click but I know I’m capable of scoring well in this league.

“I always give it everything I’ve got, I never give up without trying and hopefully the supporters will be able to see early on that I’ll fight for every point possible.”
