PEDERSEN RARING TO GO!

Friday January 24, 2020
THREE-time World Champion Nicki Pedersen introduced himself to Sheffield fans on a special evening at Owlerton on Thursday.

Supporters flocked to Owlerton to meet the new Tru Plant Tigers number one - getting to know him on a more personal level ahead of the forthcoming season.

The dynamic Dane provided an insight into life as one of the most experienced riders in the world and expressed his excitement ahead of a new challenge at a club that matches his ambitions for the year ahead.

Pedersen said: “The club have been working hard to get the team together which makes me happy to see they have the ambition to do well - they certainly have the tools.

“I’m looking forward to being part of that as best as I possibly can and hopefully we get some luck along the way which is something you definitely need in sport.”

Despite not riding at Owlerton consistently over the years - Pedersen can’t wait to get out on track with help from team boss and Sheffield legend Simon Stead.

“It was just the right time for Simon to call me - if anyone other than Simon would’ve called me then I wouldn’t have come back,” he added.

“His family have treated me so well in the past and we’ve got a mutual respect for each other.

“Simon is clever enough to know I’ll listen to him. He knows the way around Owlerton - you never become too experienced to not learn anymore.”

Co-promoter Peter Mole hailed Pedersen’s enthusiasm and professional attitude - admitting he can’t wait for proceedings to start at the end of March.

”We thank Nicki for his time and I’m sure a number of people will have seen a different side to Nicki that they’ve never seen before - he’s a true professional.

“The club would also like thank TV and Radio broadcaster Nigel Pearson for taking time out to support the club in presenting the event.

“Hopefully the night has got everyone in the mood for the new season and we look forward to welcoming you all back to Owlerton in a few weeks time.”
