INDEPENDENT Forgings and Alloys (IFA) are proud to be a Team Partner to the Sheffield ‘Tru Plant’ Tigers for the 2020 SGB Premiership season.
It’s a new chapter for the Tigers, recruiting a three-time world champion and representing the Steel City and the whole of Yorkshire in British speedway’s top tier.
Furthermore, it’s a great association for IFA to have as the company, as well as the club, are entering into a new chapter of the business from 2020 as a fully integrated one site manufacturer of both open die and closed die forgings.
IFA manufactures high-integrity, forged components for OEMs and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine and oil and gas sectors, and was formed in 2001 following the acquisition of Doncasters open-die forge site on Penistone Road.
In November 2019, IFA acquired the precision forge site as well and rebranded it as IFA Precision Forge. IFA have now created a one-stop-shop as the only Western forge with open-die ring rolling, press forging, hammer forging and rotary forging plus now closed-die forging, drop stamps and extrusions located on a single site.
IFA continue to build on Sheffield’s forging heritage by innovating and identifying growth opportunities and this acquisition further strengthens the company’s position in the market as the go-to aerospace and industrial forger.
Similarly to the Tru Plant Tigers, IFA are stepping up a league in 2020 and the company are pleased to have forged this relationship with their Steel City neighbours.
