BIKES will roar around Owlerton for the first time in 2020 in just under two weeks from now.

A test event ahead of the new season will be held on Wednesday February 26 under the supervision of Tru Plant Tigers and GB Speedway boss Simon Stead.

Owlerton now boasts some of the most impressive facilities in the city with the new multi-million pound conference and banqueting suite and stadium landlords are keen to see the bikes go round before the tapes go up on the new season.

It’s an opportunity for riders to get in some laps in preparation for a new campaign with Stead offering his expert knowledge on the super-fast Owlerton bowl.

Sadly this event is not open to the public but any riders interested in using the track for £45 for the full session should make contact with Sheffield Speedway via email -email- or text 07812 622573.

Said Stead: “This is a great chance for riders to dust off the cobwebs. Spaces will be limited but for £45 to practice on a track like Sheffield it’s a great opportunity and if I was still riding I’d be on the track without a doubt!”
