SIMON Stead insists he has ‘no regrets’ about his racing career.
The Sheffield boss has given an interview to the club’s souvenir programme looking back on a successful time as a racer.
He won two league titles in Tigers colours, plus the top flight championship with Swindon and the cup with Belle Vue.
“Looking back I am happy with what I did,” he said. “I had more than my fair share of injuries I think, but I got to represent my country in the World Cup and I got to ride at Cardiff in the biggest meeting in the world.
“To win titles with my hometown club was special too.”
Stead’s interview is over four pages of ‘Tiger Talk’ which also includes a rare column from club co-owner Damien Bates, the usual offering from co-promoter Peter Mole, plus a host of columns from Owlerton presenter Ryan Guest and TV broadcaster Nigel Pearson.
