TIGERS MAN HEADS FOR MANCHESTER

Sunday September 27, 2020
NEW Sheffield signing Richard Lawson will head for Manchester on Monday for the rearranged British Final (7.30).

Lawson joined the Owlerton club – after almost signing once before – in the winter when Tigers were promoted to the Premiership.

And now the showpiece national championship has been switched from Ipswich to the National Speedway Stadium because of poor weather in Suffolk.

British Speedway Promoters Ltd Vice Chairman Damien Bates said: “It’s extremely disappointing for Chris Louis and Ipswich as a club to miss out on the meeting, it’s been a stressful and time consuming exercise for him to put this on.

“As a board we are all agreed on putting this event on. Everything that has been against us will be overcome. We are taking a financial risk with no fans and we wanted to give the meeting the very best chance to go ahead. We thank Belle Vue for their co-operation and support.”

Fans can watch from home with a top quality live stream, including commentary from Dave Rowe and Chris Louis, available for £12.95 at sportcentral.tv – the first race is 7.30.
