SHEFFIELD Speedway are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former promoter Maurice Ducker.

Maurice passed away earlier this week aged 76.

He was the man in charge of our club the last time we were in the top division up until the 1988 season when the team included great talent like the Moran brothers, Kelly and Shawn.

Maurice was also elected as chairman of British Speedway and was still working actively with his family business A&E Transport until recently.

All at Sheffield Speedway send our sincere condolences to the Ducker family, friends and staff at A&E Transport.
