IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Wednesday May 12, 2021
SHEFFIELD Speedway are pleased to confirm agreement has been reached for racing to begin next week with supporters present at Owlerton.

Restricted capacity has been agreed with stadium landlords and Sheffield City Council, and tickets for the opening home Premiership match against Peterborough on Thursday May 20 will go on sale on Thursday May 13. Supporters should keep checking the club website and not call the club.

Supporters should also note the following important information:

Initial meetings will take place with outdoor viewing only, with restricted numbers. No indoor areas such as bars, restaurant or snack bars will be available. Supporters will be permitted to bring their own food into the stadium until we are able to open up food outlets, which we do hope will be in the near future.

Tickets placed on sale for the Peterborough meeting will be for the third and fourth bends only. Further tickets for the home straight will be available at the designated turnstile on matchday.

All season ticket holders who purchased a 2020 card have guaranteed entry. This will be through a turnstile rather than the usual gate and will be clearly marked on the day. Please use the 2020 card you already have. Season ticket holders will be directed to the home straight area.

Any supporters struggling to stand for a full meeting can buy a ticket on the day and bring a foldable chair into the stadium, and they will be directed to the home straight. Anyone with any difficulty with this can e-mail office@sheffield-speedway.com and we will be happy to assist. The club plans to purchase a number of foldable chairs to assist our fans.

FACE COVERINGS: It will be mandatory for supporters to wear a facemask whilst passing through the turnstiles, or when entering the toilets, unless genuinely exempt for medical reasons. It is recommended that face coverings are worn when on the terracing, although this is not mandatory.

Supporters should remain within their allocated area throughout the meeting and maintain social distancing as per government guidelines.

Turnstiles will be open from 6pm and programmes will be available to purchase as normal.

Everyone entering the stadium must purchase a ticket as no passes will be admitted.

Sheffield Speedway would like to thank our landlords at Owlerton and Sheffield City Council for their support throughout these discussions.

We look forward to welcoming our fans and sponsors back, we thank them for their continued support, and we trust they understand the restrictions we must work under at this time. We will of course keep everyone updated as and when these restrictions change.
