SIGNING STEFAN WANTS FLYING START

Sunday August 01, 2021
NEW signing Stefan Nielsen is hoping to get his Sheffield career off to a flying start at King’s Lynn on Monday (7.30).

The former double British Under-19 Champion has joined the Tru Plant Tigers as a reserve replacement for James Wright who was struggling to find form.

The Tigers’ trip to the Adrian Flux Arena begins a key run of fixtures for Simon Stead’s side and Nielsen understands the importance of the coming weeks for the Owlerton outfit.

“It’s getting interesting let’s put it that way,” Nielsen said.

“This week’s meetings (away at King’s Lynn on Monday and then Ipswich on Thursday) could turn out to be so important as Sheffield aim to get into those play-offs and hopefully we can add some more points and get a win or two away from home too.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to come back into the Premiership now; I’ve been going well for Poole lately so my confidence is up and I know I can score some points.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the team because it’s a team with a lot of potential.

“I’m just excited to see what I can do and I’m looking forward to my time with the Sheffield outfit.”

Nielsen’s Championship teammate Danyon Hume has been booked to guest alongside him at reserve for this week’s two meetings as cover for the injured Josh Bates.

Jack Holder also makes a welcome return to the side on Monday and heads straight to No.1 with the riding order shuffled below him.

KING’S LYNN: Richard Lawson, Cameron Heeps, Erik Riss, Lewis Kerr, Thomas Jorgensen, Connor Mountain, Ricky Wells.

SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Josh Pickering, Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth, Adam Ellis, Stefan Nielsen, Danyon Hume.
