SKIPPER SAYS ‘VICTORY VITAL’

Wednesday August 11, 2021
SHEFFIELD skipper Kyle Howarth is relishing the prospect of facing his former club Wolverhampton in an eagerly awaited Owlerton clash on Thursday (7.30).

Howarth, a league winner with the West Midlands side in 2016, has fond memories of his time at Monmore Green.

But he insists victory is vital for TruPlant Tigers as they look to build on back-to-back away wins over King’s Lynn and Ipswich which gained them eight league points.

“I had a great time down at Monmore riding for them and I won the league with them at Belle Vue in 2016, what a night that was,” he said.

“Chris Van Straaten and Pete (Adams) always treated me superbly and had Sheffield not gone up a level Wolves would have been my first choice to be in the Premiership.

“We’ve beaten them once around here this season but they’ve improved since then and I expect it to be really tough and competitive.

“They have a team packed full of talent in every department and we know how hard it will be.”

Owlerton Stadium’s restaurant, bar and catering facilities have all returned to normal with the track shop now moving back inside the stadium and programmes can be purchased on entry to the venue.

SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Josh Pickering, Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth, Adam Ellis, Danyon Hume, Stefan Nielsen.
