SHEFFIELD have moved to confirm season tickets for their play-off semi-final with Belle Vue next Thursday are valid.

The club have made this decision to show their appreciation for the loyal following of Tru Plant Tigers fans ahead of the biggest night of speedway at Owlerton in recent history.

It is the first time Sheffield have ever made a top flight play-off and if they managed to get past the Aces they will face either Wolverhampton or Peterborough in the Grand Final.

Club co-owner Damien Bates said: "Without the fans sport is nothing and the loyalty shown by our supporters has been magnificent.

"We've had great support in the Premiership this year and by making this gesture for our season ticket holders we hope it underlines how grateful we are.

"Personally I cannot wait for next Thursday. It feels like it's a massive event and I'm sure Owlerton will be packed."

Sheffield have one more league fixture to come at Owlerton before then when they face King's Lynn this Sunday at 5pm.

The club have revealed Eurosport and TalkSPORT broadcaster Nigel Pearson will be back on the microphone as guest presenter.

Pearson did the role between 1994 and 2003 before moving into TV.

"We're pleased to have Nigel on board, he's the voice of speedway and he's a handy replacement for Ryan Guest, who is unavailable," said Bates. "It means Nigel's average must be lower than Ryan's to get the guest booking!"
