PREVIEW: TIGERS v WOLVERHAMPTON

Wednesday May 18, 2022
SHEFFIELD can book their place in the Premiership League Cup Final when they host Wolverhampton on Thursday (May 19, 7.30).

The Tru Plant Tigers are aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the season – and another victory would see them seal top spot in the Northern Group to set-up a shot at silverware with King’s Lynn.

The Owlerton outfit face a Wolverhampton side with proven performers around the Steel City circuit though.

And club captain Kyle Howarth reckons his side are going to have to come up with their strongest performance of the season so far as he expects a real challenge from the West Midlands side.

Said Howarth: “We have to be careful because we know what some of their boys can do around Sheffield.

“They've got a really solid top five who can all score big points, but again we just need to focus on doing what we have been.

“We would love to keep the ball rolling with another win and a place in that Cup Final.”

The Tru Plant Tigers welcome back No.1 Jack Holder who has declared himself fit to race after missing Monday’s win at Ipswich following a crash in Saturday’s Polish Speedway Grand Prix.

Admission is now pay on the day at the turnstiles by cash or card – with Children Under-12 admitted for just £1.

SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Craig Cook, Tobiasz Musielak, Kyle Howarth, Adam Ellis, Stefan Nielsen, Connor Mountain.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Nick Morris, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson.
