SHEFFIELD and Belle Vue go head-to-head at Owlerton on Thursday (May 26, 7.30) in a meeting of the Premiership’s current top two sides.
It’s the Aces of Manchester leading the way early doors, taking 11 points from their first five league fixtures.
Meanwhile the Tru Plant Tigers have won both of their Premiership outings to date and will be looking to maintain that unbeaten start.
They face a much stronger Belle Vue side to the one they beat 53-37 in the League Cup last month though with former Slovenian Grand Prix regular Matej Zagar reunited with his old club.
And after losing their first meeting of the year to Wolverhampton in the Cup last week, Tru Plant Tigers skipper Kyle Howarth insists he and his team-mates can’t wait to get back out on track.
“It was a disappointing night for us (against Wolverhampton) but we’ll bounce back and we’ll come back fighting,” he said.
“I believe in the lads and we’ll be alright. We’ll bounce back and we’ll look forward to the next home meeting.
“We’ve already beat Belle Vue a couple of times this year but even with the team they had then, we still thought they’d be a bit stronger than they were.
“They’ve brought Zagar in and they’ve definitely picked up haven’t they?
“So we know it’s going to be tough but as we always say, as long as we ride how we know we can and as long as everyone does their jobs, then we know we can beat them again.”
There will be an opportunity for supporters to sign up to Sheffield’s 100 club on Thursday via the Speedway Office, allowing them to interact with the club’s management and riders throughout the season.
