LEAGUE leaders Sheffield are keen to maintain their 100 per cent record over rivals Belle Vue as the two meet in Manchester on Monday (July 4, 7.30).

The Tru Plant Tigers have won three out of three against the Aces so far this season, including a last gasp 46-44 League Cup victory at the National Speedway Stadium on the opening night of team action back in March.

The Manchester men have improved dramatically since introducing former Grand Prix rider Matej Zagar to their side ahead of their league programme though.

The Slovenian has been in blistering form around the NSS circuit and has been a big reason why the Aces have won all four of their Premiership home fixtures.

But the Tigers hold no fear with a solid run behind them themselves, unbeaten in their last four and having failed to claim anything from just one of their eight league matches to date.

Tru Plant Tigers team boss Simon Stead is looking forward to Monday night and is anticipating a classic War of the Roses clash.

“Belle Vue are a fantastic looking outfit,” Stead said.

“But at the end of the day, it’s another opportunity for us to get some more points on the board.

“We know it’s going to be incredibly difficult because they ride their track very, very well.

“But again, it’s somewhere where all of our boys ride well too and like.

“So we have to go there confident and try and continue our good form.

“I’m sure we’ll be backed in good numbers by our fantastic travelling group of supporters with the ‘Tigers on Tour’ and hopefully we can all head home with a reason to be cheerful.”

Justin Sedgmen comes in for his full debut at reserve for Sheffield having top scored as a guest in last Monday’s home win over Ipswich.

Meanwhile Craig Cook also returns to the side, against his former employers, having successfully shook off any fitness concerns with a 15-point maximum for Glasgow in the Championship on Friday.

For the Aces, Tom Brennan becomes the first British Rising Star to elevate from the reserve positions into the main body of a Premiership side.
