PREVIEW: PREMIERSHIP PAIRS, ROUND 3

Wednesday July 06, 2022
SHEFFIELD aim to continue their solid start to the 2022 Premiership Pairs competition as they head to King's Lynn for Round Three on Thursday (July 7, 7.30).

The Tru Plant Tigers are currently joint first alongside the event's next hosts on 16-points apiece.

Sheffield have topped the qualifying heats in both meetings at Peterborough and Ipswich so far before missing out in the Grand Final of each.

And the Owlerton outfit have reverted to their first round pairing of Jack Holder and Adam Ellis, with Connor Mountain again joining them as the club's Rising Star.

Team boss Simon Stead said: "As I've said previously, the beauty of this competition and the way the rules and regulations work is that we can choose from our top four averaged riders.

"I thought Tobi and Adam rode really, really well together at Ipswich and they earned us another good, solid set of points.

"We had a quick chat with the lads, and discussed a few different things, and in the end we've decided to go with Jack and Adam.

"As we've seen on a number of occasions already this season, those two together can beat any other riders in this year's Premiership.

"They're both really up for it and with us having to settle for second twice already, they're determined to do everything they can to finally go one better this time around."

Any supporters unable to make the trip to the Adrian Flux Arena can stream the meeting courtesy of British Speedway Network+ online at watch.britishspeedway.co.uk or via their app which is now available on Amazon Fire TV and on all IOS (Apple) devices.

Each round can be purchased individually at £12.99 per event.
