RESULT: PREMIERSHIP PAIRS, R4

Monday July 18, 2022
SHEFFIELD’s Premiership Pairs hopes were dealt a blow on Monday as they failed to add any points to their tally.

The Tru Plant Tigers arrived in Wolverhampton with three successive second places behind them and were just two points off series leaders Ipswich.

Jack Holder was a late call-up to the meeting after Tobiasz Musielak crashed out in Poland on Sunday - and he alongside team-mates Adam Ellis and Rising Star Connor Mountain struggled from the off in sweltering conditions.

They finished bottom of the pile with just 12 points - meaning they headed back to South Yorkshire with nothing added to the standings.

The event was won by Ipswich who secured a third straight victory - they are now 14 points ahead of Sheffield with just two rounds to go.

Sheffield’s Owlerton Stadium is the venue for Round Five on Thursday, August 18 (7.30) - in the meantime it’s a trip to league leaders Ipswich this Thursday (July 21, 7.30) for Simon Stead’s men.
