TIGERS 57 BELLE VUE 33

SHEFFIELD head into the Premiership play-offs on the back of their biggest win of the season.

The Tru Plant Tigers eased to a 57-33 home victory over Belle Vue to grab top spot ahead of the cut-off.

It means they’ll face fourth placed Wolverhampton in the Semi-Finals - with the first leg at Monmore Green this coming Monday (September 26, 7.30).

A solid all-round display saw Sheffield make it nine out of nine in the league at home as they dominated their rivals from Manchester.

Three heat advantages in the opening five races saw the Tigers open up a healthy ten point lead and they kicked on in real style with no last places from Heat Seven onwards.

Team boss Simon Stead said: “That was really good.

“Belle Vue have been really dominant of late so to get a win like that over such a good team is obviously pleasing.

“You look through the scorecard and everybody did their bit, everybody chipped in and while we won’t be taking anything for granted now in the play-offs, we are really pleased.”

Tobiasz Musielak continued his brilliant form with three race wins out of five whilst Jack Holder reached double figures at home for a fifth straight fixture.

Adam Ellis and Rising Star Connor Mountain both recorded paid double figure scores while Kyle Howarth rounded off his night with a race victory.

Justin Sedgmen took the chequered flag in Heat Two and showed plenty of competitiveness on the night while Lewis Kerr responded to two opening last places superbly by being involved in a couple of 5-1s.

The main event was followed by Premiership Junior League action where the Sheffield STAARS Tiger Cubs were beaten 23-13 by a much more experienced youth side.
