PREVIEW: WOLVERHAMPTON v TIGERS

Sunday October 02, 2022
SHEFFIELD head back to Wolverhampton on Monday (October 3, 7.30) for the second attempt of their Premiership Play-Off Semi-Final.

The two sides were set to race last Monday before rain in the West Midlands caused the fixture to be postponed.

It means they will now battle it out twice in the space of 72 hours with a place in the Grand Final on the line.

And Tru Plant Tigers heat-leader Adam Ellis insists he and his team-mates are ready for the challenge that lies ahead.

“There hasn’t really been anything between us and Wolves when we’ve raced each other this season,” he said.

“There’s been a few 46-44s and they’ve always been pretty close meetings all the way through.

“Wolves have got a pretty strong team but if we can ride how we have been in our last few meetings then hopefully we’ll have enough to get into that Final.”

With the first leg now taking place in October, a new set of free sheet averages come into play meaning that Jack Holder regains the No.1 racejacket.

Wolverhampton have also advised that supporters who purchased a raceday programme last Monday should bring theirs along to the restaging as only a reduced number of the original issue will be available.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Nick Morris, Drew Kemp, Leon Flint.

SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Lewis Kerr, Adam Ellis, Kyle Howarth, Tobiasz Musielak, Justin Sedgmen, Connor Mountain.
