CONFIDENT KERR

Thursday December 01, 2022
LEWIS Kerr says his confidence has been restored since signing for Sheffield.

The Norfolk born racer joined the Tru Plant Tigers in August having been released by hometown club King's Lynn.

And despite experiencing a challenging campaign up until that point, the 32-year-old turned his own season around whilst helping Sheffield reach the Grand Final and lift the Premiership League Cup, ironically against his former employers, in the process.

Kerr became the fourth rider to put pen to paper with Sheffield for 2023 earlier this week and he's now excited to see what he can achieve during a full season in South Yorkshire.

"It's a club that has revitalised me and that is exactly what I needed," he said.

"I needed a fresh start with a fresh club, fresh track, fresh promotion, fresh fans and it was fantastic from the minute I signed.

"The way I was riding for Sheffield was like I was riding like a heat-leader.

"My confidence was so high with Sheffield and I genuinely felt like I could be anybody and beat anybody which is a great feeling."

A reminder that Sheffield Speedway 2023 Season Tickets remain available online via http://www.sheffield-speedway.com/ticketoffice.

But they can also be purchased in person from the Speedway Office at Owlerton this coming Saturday (December 3) between 12 noon and 2pm.
