PREVIEW: WOLVERHAMPTON v TIGERS

Sunday May 14, 2023
SHEFFIELD head to Wolverhampton in the Premiership on Monday (May 15, 7.30) - and have called upon former Wolves man Nick Morris to guest at No.1.

He steps in for Jack Holder who is required to race in the Polish league, fresh from his first ever Speedway Grand Prix podium finish in Warsaw on Saturday.

It’s otherwise a full strength side for the Tru Plant Tigers in a repeat of last year’s Premiership Play-Off Semi-Final.

Captain Kyle Howarth and Tobiasz Musielak raced for Wolverhampton earlier in their careers - and will be looking to utilise their track knowledge as the Tigers look to continue their strong start to the season.

Their only defeat so far came in a last heat decider at Ipswich last month - and reserve Lewis Kerr reckons the atmosphere within the camp is playing a big part in results.

“We’re all just full of confidence, we’re all having fun and I think it’s showing on track,” he said.

“We’ve been brilliant and we just want to keep building on the good start we’ve had.”

Wolves include Scott Nicholls as a guest for Luke Becker who remains sidelined with a broken fibula.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Scott Nicholls, Zach Cook, Leon Flint.
SHEFFIELD: Nick Morris, David Bellego, Adam Ellis, Kyle Howarth, Tobiasz Musielak, Lewis Kerr, Dan Gilkes.
