SHEFFIELD returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 60-30 triumph over King’s Lynn.
The Tru Plant Tigers racked up their biggest win of the season so far as they ended a run of three straight defeats in the Sports Insure Premiership.
It was a first home fixture in seven weeks - but the Owlerton outfit were in even more dominant form than when the sides met on that occasion in the Knockout Cup.
The Tigers opened up an early six point lead with back-to-back heat advantages - and they never looked back as they coasted to victory.
They restricted the Stars to just two race wins all night as they extended their top-flight unbeaten run against the Norfolk side to 13 meetings.
Grand Prix star Jack Holder stormed to a full four ride maximum whilst Adam Ellis recorded double figures for the first time this year - only denied a paid maximum himself in Heat 15.
Captain Kyle Howarth was also amongst the double digits whilst Tobiasz Musielak was in the mix all night long despite not being too sharp away from the starts.
They were all supported superbly by reserve duo Lewis Kerr and Dan Gilkes who contributed 16 points between them.
David Bellego was withdrawn from the meeting after a nasty collision with King’s Lynn guest Ryan Douglas in Heat Six - but the Frenchman was more left feeling battered and bruised.
The two sides meet again next Thursday (June 1, 7.30) at the Adrian Flux Arena with the aggregate point also on the line.
The next action at Owlerton comes on Thursday, June 8 (7.30) when the Tru Plant Tigers host Wolverhampton in the first leg of their Sports Insure Premiership Knockout Cup Semi-Final.
