SHEFFIELD’S third tier team were beaten 63-27 at league leaders Leicester on Sunday.

The Autocraft Tiger Cubs were restricted to just three race winners by the hosts who continued their own flying start to the WSRA National Development League campaign.

Assistant team manager Paul Tatam said: “We were beaten by the better team.

“Our boys tried their hardest but not many teams will win against Leicester.

“We just move onto the next one.”

The Tiger Cubs will ride under their Scunthorpe guise at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday, June 28 against Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, Sheffield are back at home in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership this Thursday (May 23, 7.30pm) against Leicester.
