SHEFFIELD’s Tiger Cubs’ home programme ended with a 50-39 defeat at the hands of Belle Vue Colts.

They were essentially undone by a simply stunning performance from the visitors’ teenage sensation William Cairns, who scored 18 points from seven rides at reserve, as well as Freddy Hodder who chipped in with 13+1.

Autocraft Tiger Cubs No.1 Nathan Ablitt dropped just one point to Hodder in Heat Six whilst Mickie Simpson, Ace Pijper and Luke Harrison all chipped in with one win apiece whilst young Jamie Etherington picked up his first NDL point when he finished ahead of Jack Shimelt in Heat Eight.

The team head to Edinburgh tonight under their Scunthorpe guise before facing the Colts away on Friday, October 11.
