SHEFFIELD skipper Josh Pickering is confident his side will produce much better displays against Leicester this week.
The two sides are set to meet twice in the space of 72-hours with the Tru7 Group Tigers travelling to the East Midlands on Monday (July 21, 7.30pm) before hosting the Lions at Owlerton on Thursday (July 24, 7.30pm).
It’s Leicester who hold a 100 per cent record between the two so far with three wins out of three in all competitions.
The Tigers suffered two straight sizeable defeats at The Hydroscand Arena in both the Knockout Cup and the league at the beginning of June.
But with their full side back on track and with them taking confidence from hitting 60 against Oxford last Monday, Pickering expects his side to display a much stronger showing on this occasion.
“They were the way better team each time we’ve faced them so far,” Pickering said.
“It was below par from us in each of those meetings but we’re only looking forward now and we’re focusing on the following matches coming up.
“We’re in a very good situation again right now, we’ve got Steady (Simon Stead - team manager) in our corner, we’re all leading from the front, we’ve got our full 1-7 back so let’s just keep things rolling.”
Monday’s meeting at Leicester will be broadcast live on TNT Sports and Discovery+.
