‘REGGIE’ RETURNS

Friday January 16, 2026
JYE Etheridge has become the fifth rider to agree a return to Sheffield for 2026.

He joins Jack and Chris Holder, Anders Rowe and Leon Flint on the list of returnees from the side that finished last season with Rising Star Luke Killeen the only new name announced so far.

It leaves the Tigers with just one team spot to fill ahead of the forthcoming Premiership campaign and team boss Simon Stead is looking forward to seeing how Etheridge gets on from the off.

“It was a bit of a tough one for ‘Reggie’ last year because he came in after a good chunk of the season had already gone and at the time he wasn’t 100 per cent fit,” Stead said.

“Despite that, we still saw some glimpses of what he’s capable of and it’s his attitude that I like.

“He’s always wanting to try new things with his set-ups to try and get things to click, he’s not afraid to attack a different racing line, he’s always listening and he always gives it a good go.

“I think being in the team from the off will benefit him a lot and being at reserve again gives him a really good platform to build from.”
