AS revealed at last night’s STAARS event, the existing Sheffield ownership can confirm they will run as sole promoters once again in 2026.
It had previously been announced that new investors were set to come on board early in the new year and would look after the commercial and marketing side of the club - but that is now no longer the case.
Co-owner Damien Bates said: “It’s a shame and the timing is far from ideal - but it is what it is.
“We couldn’t quite come to the agreement we were both looking for and at this moment, it just wasn’t the right time.
“It does mean we have a hell of a lot of work to do over the next six weeks or so between now and March rolling around, but hopefully as a club we can all pull together and make it a success.
“We remain fully committed to Sheffield, we’re staying positive, we’ve got a strong and familiar looking team in place and we’re looking forward to what 2026 could bring for the club on track.”
