SHEFFIELD head to Leicester on Thursday (April 23, 7.30pm) with a place in this year’s Premiership Knockout Cup Final on the line.
It was the Lions who left the Tigers shell shocked in South Yorkshire last week when they walked away 49-41 victors at Owlerton.
But now Sheffield will be hoping to upset the holders around their own circuit to take them a step closer towards the first silverware of the season.
Regardless of who ends up with the aggregate point on Thursday, previous results in the Northern Section means a victory by any margin for the Tigers would see them jump to the top of the group and sneak through on points difference whilst a draw or a home win would see the Lions continue their defence of the cup.
Sheffield team manager Simon Stead said: “Yes we were disappointed to lose at home last Thursday, but that’s gone now and we have to focus on this fixture.
“We’re going to need the lads to roll their sleeves up, dig in and come out fighting and we know what we’re capable of.
“We need to limit any last places, work for those heat advantages when we can and hopefully by the end of Heat 15 we’ll have done enough to get the win and put us through to that final.”
Both teams remain unchanged from last week’s head-to-head.
