SHEFFIELD’S poor away form continued with a thumping 58-34 defeat at Stoke on Saturday evening.
The Potters were much the better side on the night and ran out easy winners against a Tigers team who only had Ricky Ashworth 13 points and guest Ben Powell 10 showing any sort of decent form.
Even their ever reliable skipper Andre Compton had an off-night failing to win a race in his 5+1 point haul.
Stoke got off to a flyer with a 5-0 in the opening race and a steady flow of heat advantages saw them open up an unassailable 43-16 lead after ten races.
Ricky Ashworth donned the black and white helmet for double points in heat 11 and he managed to beat former team-mate Andrew Moore for a rare Tigers race win. Joel Parsons was third and a 7-2 advantage to the Tigers momentarily reduced the arrears.
However, there was no further comeback and the Yorkshire side eventually went down to another heavy away defeat.
