DUO RETURN FOR TIGERS

Wednesday August 27, 2008
SHEFFIELD Tigers have been handed a double boost ahead of their Thursday night clash with reigning champions Rye House at Owlerton (7.45pm).

Skipper Andre Compton has declared himself fit and reserve Lee Smethills will return to the side after two-months on the sidelines with a back injury.

It’s a timely boost for Eric Boocock’s men who are already without broken wrist victim Ricky Ashworth for the rest of the season.

Neil Machin, owner of the Sheffield Window Centre-backed club, said: “It’s great news for us to have both these guys back with us.

“Andre’s crash last Thursday was horrendous and it’s amazing that he can be back on a bike racing again a week later.”

Rye House are sweating on the fitness of talented teenager Tai Woffinden who has muscle damage after a weekend crash at Stoke.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth R/R, Paul Cooper, Andre Compton, Joel Parsons, Ben Wilson, Kyle Hughes, Lee Smethills.
RYE HOUSE: Stefan Ekberg, Robert Mear, Tai Woffinden (if fit), Tommy Allen, Chris Neath, Daniel Halsey, Luke Bowen.
