TIGERS LOOK TO THE FUTURE

Wednesday October 01, 2008
SHEFFIELD bosses will cast an eye towards the future when they stage the Top Gun Individual event at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45pm).

Speculation has suggested the Sheffield Window Centre-backed club could be looking at sweeping changes to their team for next season.

And they want to ensure they get the right man down in the reserve berth after the ill-fated signings of Sam Martin and Kyle Hughes.

That would appear to leave the door open for one of the riders in Thursday’s meeting to stake a claim for a Premier League team place.

Club owner Neil Machin said: "There are several riders in the field who would all welcome a chance to ride in the Premier League next season and this is their chance to impress us here at Sheffield.

"We have riders like Adam McKinna, Daniel Halsey and Luke Priest who already have Premier experience but a lot of the other lads have ambitions of their own.”

LINE-UP: Leigh Boudos, Gary Irving, Ben Taylor, Adam McKinna, David Speight, Gareth Isherwood, Adam Wrathall, Scott Richardson, Ben Hopwood, Mark Thompson, Darren Smith, Daniel Halsey, Rob Smith, Darcy Ward, Andrew Aldridge, Luke Priest.
