SHEFFIELD Tigers will bring the curtain down on the 2008 season with a special meeting against a group of Owlerton track specialists on Thursday (7.45pm).

And club owner Neil Machin has admitted he will be taking a close look at potential new signings with next season in mind.

The meeting with ‘Owlerton Outlaws’ also sees the curtain fall on Tigers captain Andre Compton’s glittering career after announcing his retirement last week.

The Outlaws include current Owlerton assets Lee Complin, Richard Hall, Scott Smith and James Birkinshaw.

And Ben Powell, who was dramatically axed by Scunthorpe for disciplinary reasons at the weekend, is included alongside Birmingham’s Polish sensation Tomasz Piszcz and Lincolnshire lad Carl Wilkinson.

The meeting will end with a grand firework display which the club have become famous for as a fitting way to call time on the season.
