TIGERS brought the curtain down on their season – and the career of skipper Andre Compton – with a 44-34 defeat at the hands of an Owlerton Outlaws Select.

Sheffield stars Joel Parsons and Lee Smethills were both injured, along with the Outlaws' Byron Bekker in only the fourth heat, leaving the hosts with only four riders.

Parsons had clattered into Smethills' back wheel on the fourth turn, with both riders cartwheeling along the track while Becker couldn't avoid ploughing into the carnage - all three pulling out of the rest of the meeting.
