JOEL Parsons is staying with Sheffield and has become the Tigers' first confirmed signing for 2009.

Owlerton boss Neil Machin, who is holding talks with other targets, says the 23-year-old Australian needs to improve his consistency next year.

Machin said: "Joel's average is good value although we all know he is capable of improving on that. There were flashes of brilliance last season which show what he's capable of."
