ADAM Allott has announced his retirement after doctors warned him of the consequences should he suffer another back injury.

The former Sheffield man, 23, crashed at Scunthorpe and has been wearing a neck and body brace since.

Said Allott: “The doctors said the decision is mine but I can’t ignore that and will have to call it quits. A bone which is very close to the spinal cord is very weak.”
