TIGERS SIGN NEW AUSSIE

Tuesday June 02, 2009
SHEFFIELD have agreed terms with 18-year-old Australian Hugh Skidmore in time for Thursday's home meeting with Newcastle.

Skidmore will be making his Premier League debut after some impressive second half outings around Owlerton and he has recently bought equipment from former Grand Prix star Chris Louis.

Former Tigers ace Lee Complin, meanwhile, has been drafted into the Newcastle side as a guest replacement for the injured Steve Boxall.

Promoter Neil Machin said: "I've been watching Hugh's progress closely and we will bring him in on Thursday as cover for Ritchie Hawkins.

"He's keen and ready to go and we're looking forward to seeing him in action on Thursday, as well as Lee Complin who is always great value around our track."

Joel Parsons and Paul Cooper will move to reserve after a poor opening two months of the season and will be looking to pile up- the points.

Meanwhile the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side go to King's Lynn on Wednesday in Premier League action where they will operate the rider-replacement facility for the injured Hawkins.

KING'S LYNN: Darcy Ward, Linus Eklof, Emiliano Sanchez, Chris Schramm, Tomas Topinka, Kozza Smith, Jan Graversen.

SHEFFIELD: Josh Auty, Ricky Ashworth, Paul Cooper, Richard Hall, Ritchie Hawkins R/R, Chris Mills, Joel Parsons.
