TONIGHT! ...IT’S GAME ON

Thursday July 30, 2009
TIGERS’ clash with old foes Rye House goes ahead as planned – after work on the track went on through the night.

Owlerton was left battered from a weekend stock-car meeting and heavy rains, but track staff have literally burned the midnight oil to make sure the clash with the Rockets goes ahead.

Said promoter Neil Machin: “We’ve had a big job to get the surface race-ready but the good news is that it’s looking good, thanks to some great efforts by the track staff who have worked through the night to get it ready.

“We have had a lot of rain and the stock cars always rip up the surface, but we can now look forward to what promises to be a terrific meeting.

“Rye House are the team that took the 2007 title off us and there’s bound to be a bit of needle. It’s our turn to put one over them.”

Start time is 7.45pm and, as always, under-12s are admitted free.
