ASHWORTH OUT OF POTTERS CLASH

Saturday August 01, 2009
SHEFFIELD have been forced into a late change ahead of tonight’s Premier League meeting at Stoke with skipper Ricky Ashworth being withdrawn on Doctor’s orders.

Ashworth was uncomfortable with an ear problem during the match with Rye House on Thursday and a subsequent visit to his GP has resulted in him not being allowed to race.

Tigers will use current Scunthorpe skipper, David Howe, as a guest replacement.

Team Manager, Eric Boocock, hailed Howe's professionalism and experience in the sport. "David is one of the most experienced riders in the Premier League who I can rely on to give his all at Stoke for us.

“I am pleased he agreed to cover"
