SHEFFIELD 54 STOKE 39 - THURSDAY

Thursday August 06, 2009
SHEFFIELD Tigers added three valuable points to their Premier League Speedway tally thanks to a 54-39 win over rivals Stoke Potters at Owlerton on Thursday.

The Owlerton side head to Edinburgh on Friday with an unchanged side in a confident mood to bolster their healthy league position in the top three.

Once again, teenagers Hugh Skidmore and Josh Auty led the way with double figure scores, Skidmore’s hopes of a second-successive maximum being thwarted in heat 15 when he finished last after missing the start.

But up until then the Aussie had been superb, winning his first three races and finishing second behind team-mate Joel Parsons in a heat 12 maximum 5-1.

Auty was equally impressive as he put in another determined shift, while Richard hall also won two races in his nine point haul.

Sheffield Speedway would also like to place on record their appreciation for the magnificent support from a bumper crowd on a superb night of racing.

TIGERS: H. Skidmore 11+1, J. Auty 10, R. Hall 9, R. Ashworth 7+1, P. Cooper 6+2, C. Mills 6+1, J. Parsons 5+1.
STOKE: J. Bunyan 12, L. Complin 11+2, R. Ksiezak 7, K. Jakobsen 4, C. Branney 3, J. Kristiansen 2, T. Madsen 0.
