TIGERS V REDCAR, THURSDAY - PREVIEW

Wednesday September 02, 2009
SHEFFIELD Tigers are facing up to their two biggest meetings of the season.

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side face Redcar – who won at Owlerton in the Premier Trophy back in April – at home on Thursday with the return on Teesside 24-hours later.

Both meetings could well shape Sheffield’s season in their bid to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Boss Eric Boocock said: “It’s a vital phase of the season for us and we have to get results from these two meetings. Our aim is a play-off place which means the top four.”

Sheffield are at full strength for both meetings with Scott Smith continuing to cover for the injured Paul Cooper at reserve.

Ben Wilson, the former Sheffield favourite, is hoping to be fit just 10-days after breaking a heel in Redcar’s home win over Edinburgh.

But 1992 world champion Gary Havelock misses out after sustaining a back injury in the same meeting last week.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Joel Parsons, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Scott Smith, Chris Mills.

REDCAR: Ty Proctor, Gary Havelock R/R, Carl Stonehewer, Robbie Kessler, Ben Wilson, Arlo Bugeja, Stuart Swales.
