SHEFFIELD'S vital Premier League Speedway clash with Redcar at Owlerton on Thursday has been given an added twist... for riders and fans alike.

That's because the draw for the Premier League Riders' Championship, the showpiece individual event of the year, will be made on the pre-meeting parade.

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed will be represented by skipper Ricky Ashworth in the meeting on Sunday, September 27 (5pm).

It features the top rider from every club - including new Australian sensation Darcy Ward for King's Lynn and former Sheffield showman Steve Johnston, now of Somerset.

Tigers owner Neil Machin said: "It gives the meeting a little bit of added interest. The PLRC is a massive event and I'm sure all eyes will be on the draw!"
