TIGERS 59 SOMERSET 32

Thursday September 10, 2009
SHEFFIELD answered their critics in the best way possible with an excellent 59-32 win over Somerset at Owlerton.

The Tigers had a recent dressing down from their bosses after some below par performances, but after taking maximum league points off the Rebels, they keep themselves in touch with the play-off positions

The Yorkshire side dominated the meeting throughout with Richard Hall again top-scoring with 14 points.

Chris Mills had two heat wins in his 11+1 tally, skipper Ricky Ashworth chipped in with 10 and Joel Parsons had one of his best meetings for several weeks with 8+3.

But Hall was the star of the show, wrapping up a good night's work in heat 15 by scorching past Aussie star Steve Johnston on the second lap despite having been sent sprawling in the first attempt to run the race.

SHEFFIELD 59: Richard Hall 14, Chris Mills 11+1, Ricky Ashworth 10, Joel Parsons 8+3, Scott Smith 6+1, Josh Auty 5+2, Hugh Skidmore 5+2.

SOMERSET 32: Steve Johnston 13, Emil Kramer 8, Cory Gathercole 5, Justin Sedgeman 4, Simon Walker 2, Jari Makinen 0, Nick Simmons 0.
