TIGERS V EDINBURGH, THURSDAY - PREVIEW

Wednesday September 16, 2009
SHEFFIELD will be looking for a repeat performance of last week when they take on Edinburgh at Owlerton tomorrow night (7.45pm).

Having previously come in for some criticism the Tigers produced a good display to beat Somerset, but promoter Neil Machin has said each rider is still riding for their future with the club.

With an away match at Newport on Saturday also to come the Yorkshire side still have an outside chance of making the promotion play-offs, but know they need to take maximum points from both fixtures and then hope other results go their way.

Machin said: "The boys currently in the team have a handful of meetings left to show us just how much they want to stay here for next season.

"We still have a chance of making the play-offs but there is also next season to think about. People know I always like to get my team sorted before the turn of the year.

"Edinburgh are a good side with riders who will enjoy riding our track. I expect a good meeting between two very competitive sides, but I'm confident that if we ride like we did against Somerset then we'll put seven points on the board over the next three days."

Sheffield are unchanged from last week's victory over the Rebels, but Paul Cooper is hoping to practice afterwards in a bid to be back before the end of the season.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Joel Parsons, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Scott Smith, Chris Mills.

EDINBURGH: Ryan Fisher, Max Dilger, Kevin Wolbert, Matthew Wethers, Michal Rajkoswki, Byron Bekker, Aaron Summers.
