SHEFFIELD Tigers skipper Ricky Ashworth pulled off a sensational Premier League Riders' Championship Speedway win on his home track on Sunday night.
Ashworth got the better of Darcy Ward, regarded as a potential world champion, and the rest of the cream of the Premier League to take the title.
He said: "It's what I've worked so long for and I can't believe I've actually done it.
"A lot of people will say it was home track advantage, but it wasn't. The quality of riders in the field was superb and I had to really raise my game.
"It's going to take a lot of sinking in, but no-one can take it away from me."
