SHEFFIELD Tigers, South Yorkshire's Premier League Speedway team, are delighted to confirm the signing of Paul Cooper for next season.

Cooper is a firm favourite with Owlerton supporters and has vowed to be fighting fit after recovering from a broken ankle and foot sustained in August.

He joins skipper Ricky Ashworth, High Skidmore and Richard Hall as a confirmed starter for the 2010 campaign which starts in March.

"I'm delighted to be back with Sheffield, particularly as they showed me a lot of loyalty last season," said Cooper.

"They could have easily axed me from the team when I was at my lowest in May, but they stayed behind me and now I want to repay them with a good 2010."
